Objective:Initially study and assess the clinical efficacy that the Chinese Herbal Compound preparation of Qingwenbaidu Fluid has on HAP as well as its influence on the Indicators to the suffers of HAP and the reaction of the pseudomonas aeruginosa to it.Methods:(1)The research is based on the 51 cases of the patients treated in the emergency sickroom of the Chengdu University hospital of TCM from Jan.2008 to Dec.2009, which accorded with the standards Qi and Ying phase type according to TCM for them to be diagnosed as HAP. We adopt the clinical trial methods to divide the patients at random into two groups without notifying them. The first group, with 25 patients, was treated with integration of the Chinese Herbal Compound preparation of Qingwenbaidu Fluid and western medicine while the other group with 26 patients was treated with western medicine only. Then we compared the curative effect by analyzing the integral of the TCM symptoms and the CPIS remarks. We also observed the changes of the concentration related to blood serum like CRP,TNF-α,IL-8. (2) For the remaining samples of the culture of bacteria delivered from the Microbiology Laboratory, chose 15 pseudomonas aeruginosa to test the MIC that Qingwenbaidu Fluid caused via the tube dilution method and observed the differences it made to the sensitivity to the antibiotics after the application of Sub-MIC.Results:The TCM symptom score and CPIS records in both trial and control groups reduced after the patients took the Qingwenbaidu Fluid, while the trial group had a sharper decline. We also compared the total effectiveness of both groups, which ended up as 80% VS 45.8%. From these results, we could statistically draw a conclusion that the clinic effects are much better in the trial group than in the control group. The similar situation also went for the concentration of the patients'CRP,TNF-α,IL-6,IL-10. However, Qingwenbaidu Fluid didn't have an outstanding antibacterial effect on the drug resistant pseudomonas aeruginosa and there seemed to be no apparent differences in the consequence and effect of Qingwenbaidu Fluid on the pseudomonas aeruginosa even after being cultured in the sub-MIC Qingwenbaidu FluidConclusions:Qingwenbaidu Fluid combined with western medicine has shown some advantages over those whose used western medicine only in treating HAP. The mechanism of action may not lie in the inhibition of bacterium or getting rid of the plasmid-removal in them but in adjusting the immune function of human bodies, thus improving their abilities to resist disease and stopping infection.
