[Objective]To study the clinical therapeutic effect of generalized anxiety disorder after treatment of acupuncturing on the conception and governor vessel acupoints.[Methods]60 patients with generalized anxiety disorder, were selected as examples. They were randomly distributed into two groups, with 30 cases treated with acupuncture and the other 30 cases used as comparison by treating with drg Deanxit. The acupuncture group got the baihui, shangxing, shenting, shuigou, danzhong, juque, zhongwan as the major acupuncture points, once a day. In addition to the major point, some other points were used depending on there different syndromes. While the comparison group took Deanxit one tablet after breakfast and lunch. The course of the treatment is 4 weeks. After four-week treatment, the therapeutic effects were compared by determining the HAMA and SAS scales before and after acupuncture treatment. The side-effects were also determined by examining the TESS at the end of the fourth week. The results were derived by statistical analysis.[Results]The total effective rates were 93.33% in acupuncture treatment group and 73.33% in comparison group, and significant higher effect was observed in acupuncture group (P<0.05). After treatment, HAMA and SAS were lower in both groups (P<0.01),but significant difference between the two groups was still observed (P<0.01). Also observed was the significant TESS difference between groups (P<0.01).[Conclusion]1.Both acupuncture treatment and Deanxit treatment received good therapeutic effect. 2. Acupuncture treatment exhibited better therapeutic effect than Deanxit treatment.3. Side-effect was significantly lower in acupuncture treatment than Deanxit treatment.
