| Objective:To evaluate the effects of different surface treatments on the adhesive strength between POPO fiber post and resin cement through in vitro experiments. The morphology of the post surface after different treatments and the post/resin interface was observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM). Discussing the intrinsic link between the bonding strength and microstructure. Providing experimental basis for clinical application of POPO glass fiber Post.Material and Method:48 POPO fiber posts were divided into 6 groups at random according to different surface treatments of fiber posts. Group A:Control group, no treatment; B: silanization application 60s; C:etching application 60s+silanization application 60s; D:etching application 30s; E:etching application 60s; F:etching application 120s,48 fresh integrity single root canal premolars under the water spray cooling in the turbine with the split drill at 2mm above enamelo-cemental junction level remove crown tissue.Root canal preparation to 40# and root canal filling. Using PESSO drill eliminate gutta percha point in root canal and root canal preparation, making the final depth of the post reach 10mm and keeping 4mm of apical sealing. Guaranteeing the uniform shape, length and diameter. Then they were assigned randomly to 6 test groups mentioned above. The retentive force of the samples was tested by the universal testing machine at a speed of 1mm/min after bonding and embedding. The morphology of the post surface and the post/resin interface was observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM).Results:There was significant difference among the effects of different surface treatments on the adhesive strength between POPO fiber post and resin cement (P<0. 05), Group C showed the highest adhesive strength (224.66±18.19)N. There was significantly different between group E and B (P<0.05) but there was not significantly different between group E and D (P>0.05). Significant changes of post surface were observed after different treatments through SEM. Surface roughness and area of fibers exposed increase. The interface of fiber post and resin cement tightly coupled and no gap exists in group C.Conclusion:The adhesive strength between fiber post and resin cement had been enhanced after the posts surface treatments. For the acid etching time, the effect of acid etching 60s is higher than that 120s;while there is no significant statistical difference between30s and 60s. Etching application 60s+silanization application 60s show the best bond strength,therefore, This method is recommended to process the surface of POPO fiber post before bonding. |
