vascular dementia caused by cerebrovascular lesions such as multiple stroke or long-term chronic cerebral ischemia which made the barain damaged, it mainly shown as learning and memory, cognitie and behavior disorders. Compared with the European and American countries, The incidence of VD higher than AD significantly in our country. Become the serious damage to the life quality of the old people and public health problem, and also brings great burden to the social and family. So far,Foreign material reported that VD is the only one can be controlled. Explore the pathogenesis, seek effective treatment is the key to solve this problem.Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) plays an important role in the the survival, differentiation and growth of the neurons. Promote its injury regeneration, maintaining the nervous system of survival and function. Adjustable hippocampal synaptic transmission and synaptic plasticity, Enhance the long-term potentiation of hippocampus, plays an important role in improve cognitive function.Studies have shown that peripheral circulation of BDNF can efficient, and have saturability transit system through the blood brain barrier, also can release from the brain into the bloodstream.Animal experimental evidence has suggested that BDNF levels and high-affinity receptor TrkB mRNA are increased expressed after cerebral ischemia. However, little is known about in vivo BDNFin VD patients. The purpose of this research is to detection the serum BDNF concentration level between VD and CI, Discuss the correlation between BDNF and vascular dementia, In order to have further understanding of BDNF and VD prevention.Experimental method: 32 patients of VD were chosen from 2010 Mar to2010 Oct,35 cerebral infarct patients were selected.35 controls were chosen simultaneously in health examinated people.Enzyme-linked immunosorbant assay(ELISA)was used to measure the serum levels of BDNF. Analyze clinical data to search risk factors to vascular dementia.Experimental results:1.gender,age,level of education, fasting blood-glucose or history of smoking and drinking showed no significantly difference between any two groups; MMSE scoring in the three groups have statistical significance.hypertension showed significantly difference between the three groups(p<0.05).2.Three groups of serum BNDF concentration in non-demented cerebral infarction group highest, vascular dementia group lowest, Through statistical analysis,we find that there are significantly difference between VD and CI, but nosignificantly difference between VD and normal control.Experimental conclusion:1. cerebral infarction patients serum BDNF level slightly above with normal controls were, but no obvious difference.2. VD patients serum levels of BDNF significantly below the CI, And has the significant difference, But compared with the normal group has no obvious difference, BDNF may be involved in the cerebral infarction progress for vascular dementia pathophysiological events.
