Accumulation the experience of surgicaltreatment of head and neck schwannomas, improve the level of diagnosis andtreatment and provide its reference which of valuableMethods: All the patients with single tumor of head and neck with B-typeUltrasound inspection, with CT scan (24 cases) / MRI (12 patients) check onthe patients who suspected schwannoma,13patients with aspirations; All thepatients underwent surgical treatment, take surgery with capsule stripping..Results: 37 cases were completely tumor removed, only one case had 4/5removed. All the 38 cases were proved optimum. It was confirmed that 14 caseswere origined from vagus nervus; 7 ones from sympathetic nerve; 6 ones fromhypoglossal nerve ;6 ones from cervical plexus;3 ones from brachial plexus;twoones form facial nerve and nasal cavity each.Conclusion:1,40-60 years is the high incidence age of schwannoma, no significantincidence differences between men and women;2,Most of the schwannomas are originated from vagus nerve;3,Select DSA to identify schwannomas and carotid body tumor whichlocated in carotid artery;4,Fine needle aspiration biopsy cytology may only as clinical reference;5,When the schwannomas tumors Locate near the bases of skull, suchasparapharyngeal space and high cervical plexus, surgeons shoud evaluate thetumors'size, depth and adhesion with the around important structures correctly, and make subtle operation schemes to decrease complications.6,This study did not evaluate nonoperative treatment, the long termevaluation of radiation therapy for residual tumor needs further research.
