Object To observe the features of fundus autofluorescence happened in the periphery retina.Methords 60 eyes of totle 42 patients with lesions in periphery retina underwent ocularexamination,Optomap fundus photograph(200°), HRAⅡfluorescein angiography(FFA),melanin-related near-infrared fundus autofluorescence (NIA; excitation 795nm, emission> 800nm) and lipofuscin-related fundus autofluorescence(FAF; excitation 488 nm, emission > 500 nm).9pieces/s was recorded and compiled by HRAⅡsystem into 55°wide ,822×768 pixel AFimages. The outcomes categorized into increased AF,reduced AF and absent AF by gray levelcompared with the background.Abnormal AF were contrasted between NIA and FAF to analyzethe consistency of the gray level.Result 7 eyes out of all 60 examined eyes failed to image, acount for 11.67%.The other 53eyes which took 88.33% imaged successfully with excitation by 795nm laser and 488nmlaser.Among the 53 eyes, Sheet-like,dot-shaped, stripped autofluorescence were showed by NIAin 25 eyes(47.17%),28 eyes(52.83%) appeared normal NIA autofluorescence; 2 eyes(3.77%)showed nomal FAF autofluorescence,Sheet-like autofluorescence and abnormal autofluorescencescattered along vessels or pigments were observed in the left 51 eyes(96.23%). There 25 eyesshowed abnormal AF by both NIA and FAF.18 eyes accounted 72.00% of these appeared thesame gray level and the left 7 eyes which took 28.00% were different beween NIA and FAF.Conclusion NIA and FAF may express autofluorescence associated with lesions happened inperiretina. Also, Autofluorescence could play a meaningful roll in clinic.
