| Hypothermia is more commonly used in the intensive care unit. Hypothermia may lead to and enhance infection which will directly affect the outcome in critical patients. Whether hypothermia treatment significantly increases the probability of infection is still controversial so far. We focus on this controversial issue, and analyses its mechanism in this review.
