The Clinical Characteristics And The Strategy Of Treatment In Children With Recurrence Nephroblastoma

Objective Through analysis the clinical characteristics and the related factors on the recurrence nephroblastoma in children to study the treatment in children with recurrence nephroblastoma.Methods Retrospective study 17 cases with recurrence nephroblastoma in children who had urthroplasty from Jan 2003 to Apr 2011 at pediatric surgery in the First Subsidiary Hospital of GuangXi Medical University with recurrence nephroblastoma. The treatment of 9 cases included tumorectomy,chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Clinical data was analyzed by SPSS17.0 statistics software and survival rate was analyzed by Kaplan-Meier curve.Results According to the NWTSG classification system.The postoperative staging were I stage 4 cases, II stage 8 cases, III stage 3 cases,â…£stage 1 case,â…¤stage 1 case. The pathological diagnosis were favourable histological type 12 cases and unfavourable histological type 5 cases. The rate of node metastases in primartumor was significantly lower than that in recurrence(P>0.05). 9 cases accepted 12 vices salvage operations in the term which includes 17 cases. There are 1 vice with radical resection and 11 vices with simple resection. There were radical excision 1 vices and tumorectomy 11 vices among the total. The postoperative chemotherapy were 9 cases.The postoperative radiotherapy were 3 cases.The survival rate of 1 year in those cases which accepted salvage operation was significantly higher than those which did not accepted salvage operation(P=0.001) .Conclusions In spite of nephroblastoma would recurred once again,and the freguency or the intensity of recurrence would raised.But the tumor's pathology would not change. Method of nephroblastoma's treatment is multidisciplinary and individualized treatment, strictly regulate the combined treatment may still be relatively good prognosis.
