Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy, safety, the correlation factors of recurrence and the influence of the heart function of catheter ablation of atrial fibrillationg(AF) by CARTO,and to analysis whether the correlated factors are important for anticipating the recurrence of the atrail fibrillation, in order to get more messages about how to choose the ablation patients. Methods:Collected the clinical and electrophysiology information of sixty atrial fibrillation patients without organic and congenital heart disease from January 2009 to June 2010, the information included age, sexuality, accompanied disease, course of disease and medicine used before ablation, modus operandi, imaging diagnosis such as echocardiography. Underwent circumferential pulmonary vein ablation guided by CARTO,the end point was pulmonary vein isolation. Then followed up these patients in twelve months, reviewing electrocardiogram and 24 hours Holter, get messages about the status of patients after ablation, the recurrence time and recurrence type of arrhythmia and medicine taken after ablation, then using statistical methods such as survival analysis and COX regression analysis, analyses the relationship between the factors and the recurrence after ablation of atrial fibrillation. Results:After a follow up of ten months,50 patients maintains siuns rhythm, atrial fibrillation recurred in 10 cases, the first clinical success rate was 83.3%,10 patients recurred in patients with 3 recevied again ablation and success, the total clinical success rate was 88.3%. All the patients examined by cardiac ultrasound after 3 months, The left atrial size of patients decreased from 38.4±5.17mm to 34.2±5.07mm who maintained sinus rhythm and it enlarged from 38.7±5.61mm to 43.1±6.70mm who failed to maintain sinus rhythm. There was statistical significant in difference(P<0.05),but there wasn't statistical significant in difference of the number of left ventricular ejection fraction (p<0.01) Postoperative relapses were macroreentry atrial flutter and atrial tachycardias, Survival analysis showed that the type, the course, the diameters of left atrial were possibly related (P<0.05) to the recurrence of atrial fibrillation, and multivariable analysis revealed only the type and the course of atrial fibrillation were independent risk factors (P<0.05) responsible for the recurrence of atrial fibrillation. Conclusion:Radiofrequency catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation is effective and safe, the type and the course of atrial fibrillation were the independent risk factors responsible for the recurrence, and the diameters of left atrial were possibly related to the recurrence. For catheter ablation of atrial fibrillationg is little affected the systolic function.
