OBJECTIVE:To explor the use of 64-slice CT reconstruction in the diagnosis of congenital malformation of ossicular chain.METHODS:Appearances of auditory ossicular chains in 22 ears with idiopathic sudden deafness and 7 ears with congenital malformation of ossicular chain were observed with MPR and MIP.RESULTS:1. In single image,only a part of ossicular bone can be displayed with direct scan ,ande the hole body of one ossicular bone can be displayed with MPR,and all the ossiculars can be displayed with MIP.2.With MPR and MIP,the malformation of malleuses and incuses can be diagnosed,but not so as the malformation of the stapes. CONCLUSIONS:1. Malleus and incus can be displayed perfectly in MPR and MIP images on TRA,COR and SAG,but the stapes,especially the footplates,were not displeyed fine enough.2.To diagnose the malformation of the ossicular chain,it is beneficial to reconstruct it with the way of MPR and MIP .
