Objective:Retrospectively analyze electrophysiological characteristics of atrioventricular accessory pathway and atrioventricular reentrant tachycardia and the procedures, safety and effectiveness of radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA).Methods:Cases of accessory pathway and atrioventricular reentrant tachycardia treated by radiofrequency catheter ablation are collected in cardiology ward of the first affiliated hospital of Guangxi medical university from the year 2005 to 2010. Retrospectively analyze its electrophysiological characteristics, ablation method, ablation target and so on.Results:Retrospectively analyze 218 cases of atrioventricular accessory pathway and atrioventricular reentrant tachycardia, age are 41.3±14.7years old. 130 males,88 females.105 cases had left concealed accessory pathway,37 cases had left dominace accessory pathway,27 cases had right concealed accessory pathway,49 cases had right dominace accessory pathway. Most of the cases had single accessory pathway, double-accessory pathway and tri-accessory are rare,7 cases and 2 cases separately. Intracardial electrophysiology locate 88 accessory pathways in the left anterior lateral,31 accessory pathways in the left lateral,13 accessory pathways in the left posterior lateral,17 accessory pathways in the left posterior septal,29 accessory pathways in the right lateral,5 accessory pathways are in the right posterior lateral,17 accessory pathways are in the right anterior lateral,18 accessory pathways in the right posterior septal,10 accessory pathways in the right anterior septal and 1 accessory pathway in the right middle septal. Successfully treated with catheter ablation of the left accessory pathway in the first time is 138 cases (96.5%),1 case successfully treated in the second ablation,4 cases fall in ablation, the ultimate success rate was 97.2%.Successful ablation of the right accessory pathway for the first time is 66 cases (86.8%),6 cases succeed in the second time, while 4 cases fail. The ultimate success rate is 94.7%. Left accessory pathway is significantly more than the right accessory pathway (P>0.05). Success rate of radiofrequency ablation is lower than which in the right accessory pathway. No serious complications are found, except 1 case occurs cardiac tamponade. Conclusion:RFCA of atrioventricular accessory pathway and atrioventricular reentrant tachycardia is safe and effective.
