[Objective] This topic is designed to research mentor Professor Xiong Dajing's Mai Tong Fang through the inner ear lesions on diabetic rats to protect the diabetic rat inner ear disease and hearing loss led to the possible mechanism and its effection for the clinical application of pulse-pass side and provide experimental evidence.[Methods] The 50 SPF grade SD rats were randomly divided into 2 groups:Experimental group and Normal group. The Experimental group was injected intraperitoneally with STZ and the Normal group with Sodium Chloride for comparison.The rats were fed with normal food for 15weeks after the models of Diabetic Rats were successful.15 weeks later,the 21 Diabetic Rats were divided randomly into to 2groups according to the FPG:Model group and Treatment group.Decoction (equal to 18.125g/kg of Mai Tong Fang compound herbs)for each rat in Treatment group.The same volum of distilled water for model group and Normal group.15 days later,we sheared the tails of rats for the peripheral whole blood to measure the FPG and the content of Body weight, SOD,DPOAE.Cochlea was pilled in the bechtop,removing the surrounding tissues.HE staining was applied for the cochlea so as to observe the pathomorphologic changes.[Results] 3 weeks later, Mai Tong Fang can improve the body weight of diabetic deafness, food, drinking water, urine, hair color and other general state; cut down the blood sugar; Increase the SOD activity in blood of diabetic rats; It can improve diabetic rats mesangial cells of cochlea and vestibular structures.DPOAE Amplitude:Treatment group and model group were lower than normal group DPOAE amplitude, Compared with the control group the difference was significant (p<0.05); But the treatment group and model group showed no significant difference between (p> 0.05).[Conclusion] Diabetes caused decreased hearing function in the cochlea, maybe Diabetes blood reduce the antioxidant enzymes, Mai Tong Fang can improve antioxidant enzyme activity, Diabetic rat cochlea and the vestibular membrane lesions, Thereby delay the process of inner ear disease.
