Extraction And Identification Of β-elemene From Curcuma

Objective:We extractedβ-elemene from Curcuma by CO2 supercritical extraction and Column chromatography. This was the Preparations research basis ofβ-elemene. Methods:The best extraction conditions of essential oil from Curcuma by CO2 supercritical extraction were studied. The results showed that it was possibly best method to extract essential oil from powder of 40 mesh by CO2 supercritical extraction in 90 minutes at 30 MPa and 40℃under a flowrate of 24L/h. We seted 200-300 mesh Silica into the pillar and washed it with 30-60℃Petroleum ether,then separated sigalβ-elemene.and identificated it by Mass spectrum,Infrared spectrum and Nuclear magnetic resonance.Experiment confirmed thatβ-elemene could inhibit Throat cancer Hep-2 cells,Pancreas Cancer cell,Mammary glan cancer MCF-7/S cell,Leukemia Raji cell.Conclusion:We could extracte sigalβ-elemene from Curcuma by CO2 supercritical extraction and Column chromatography. The technology was stable and reliable. Experiment of inhibiting cancer cells would be the Preparations study basis ofβ-elemene.
