Objective To investigate the influence of noise on the steel manufacturing workers, explore the relations between noise hearing loss and the extent of noise exposure and give an analysis of relationship between hearing loss and work age, occupations, age, smoking, drinking alcohol in order to provide opinions for protecting and controlling the occupational noise hearing loss and put forward scientific evidence for enterprises to formulate the occupational disease prevention and control.Methods In Sept. 2008, we have done a physical checkup on 3263 workers of some steel factory ,there are men 2122 and women 1141 among them.Also we investigate the information of work age, sex, occupations, smoking, drinking alcohol of them. Questionnaire is made by some full-time professional doctors of occupation disease to inquire, examine and register. Registration form is recorded to the EPIDATA database by the trained professionals who have done a double check while recording. This report introduces an electric auditory equipment to determine workers'noise hearing on job, sound-level testing device to observe noise strength, make a detailed investigation of workers'work age, occupation, age, smoking, drinking alcohol by means ofχ~2 testing factor and Logistic analysis method to analyze relations between noise hearing loss and the extent of noise exposure, and get a report of he effect of the noise hearing loss on work age, occupations, age, smoking, drinking alcohol.Results This report of noise monitoring to the workplace of the steel enterprise shows that the noise measuring value reaches at 107.9dB(A) maximum, it causes some damage to the hearing organs of some workers. When the average level of noise is 89.7dB(A), the hearing loss of workers become quite obvious, examination rate is 34.94%, and 54.76% from the impulse noise to hearing loss, it is obviously higher than steady-state noise environment at the same noise strength, which indicates that the effect of impulse noise is bigger than steady noise situations. As the work age is going on, the examination rate of hearing loss is sharply rising, it points out that the risk of hearing loss is going up with the extending the time of noise. This investigation finds that examination rate of hypertension from the group of the contacting noise is higher than that of contrasting group, it is the same with most studies. By applying the factor Logistic regression statistical methods to give an analysis of report that noise hearing loss is closely associated with the noise strength to the workers on the job of noise situations. Alcohol and tobacco addiction can certainly promote the effect on noise to hearing loss as well as the work age, occupation, age which bring about the appearance of noise hearing loss.Conclusion We should strengthen the pre-appraising, examination, inspection and acceptance of occupational disease and hazards of constructive projects in order to create to the laborers working conditions and situations according to the occupational disease and hazards health standard and requirements. Department of health shall reinforce the health supervision, carry out the occupational disease and hazard factor examination and evaluation system, preserve the staff members'rights and interests. To strictly implement the national health standard of noise (noise environment<85dB (A), adopt the sound-isolation and sound-elimination new technology to reduce the noise strength of working environment and noise echo. Cut down the degree and extent to noise time. Regularly examine the hearing of workers on the job of noise environment, break away from the noise situation if the abnormal matter happens, and give the reasonable treatment to protect and control. Enhance security education, improve the workers'awareness and the necessity of the personal protective products, boost the self-protection, lessen the bad habits such as tobacco and alcohol and develop a good habit of working. Improve the working conditions, shorten the noise time, decrease the work age of noise situations, and pay more attention to the health supervision to protect the hearing well. By these the comprehensive protective measurements, it can be helpful to bring down the rate of noise to hearing loss. |
