Some key issues of BMD(Bone Mineral Density) analysis system based on RA (radiographic absorptiometry) are studied systematically and thoroughly in this dissertation .The implementation of this technique is accomplished based on the study conclusions.Revolved around the study and implementation of it,the main contributions can be summarized as follows:(1) In the first charter,the current epidemiological situation of osteoporosis(OP) , existing analysis techniques about the bone mineral density (BMD) and their own advantages and disadvantages were overviewed.(2) The brief introduction of X-ray radiology ,digital radiology(DR) and finger bone lay good foundation for the understanding of the system.(3) The response character of the main modules in this system are studied based on theoretical analysis,and then the response equations,ideal model of simplified spectrum condition and practical model of polychromatic spectrum condition are established respectively.(4) A novel RA BMD analysis algorithm based on a standard reference calibrarion which makes the measurement results more accurate is presented ,then its principles and the role of alumium wedge were explained.(5) Considering the accuracy ,stability,processing speed combined with peripheral bone anatomical featrure and other factors fully on the basis of determining hand peripheral bone as the best measurement point ,the advanced theory about imaging segmentation were applied.The exact division of phalanx and aluminum wedge provide adequate data for further calculation of BMD (6) By combinative using of Matlab,C++Builder and Visual C++,the software of the peripheral RA system is developed based on image processing,curve regression and network communication techniques.(7) The accuracy,precision and sensitivtity of this RA system is assessed by phantom testing , and contrast study.The test results indicate that this system is not only low cost and convenient but also the precision and image quality of the estabilished system are as good as other peripheral densitometer overeas ,so that it is of great practical importance and extersive application prospect.
