Objective To explore the association of pancreatic-derived factor (PANDER) with type 2 diabetes and diabetic nephropathy. Methods Fasting serum PANDER was measured in 57 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) and 20 normal controls by using recently depeloped enzyme-liked immunosorbent assay. Glycosylated hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), body mass index (BMI), systolic biood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure(DBP), totle cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high density lipoprotein (HDL-C), low density lipoprotein (LDL-C), insulin (INS), fasting plasma glucose (FPG) and urinary albumin excretory rate (UAER) were also measured in fasting status and the age was recorded. According to UAER , patients with type 2 diabetes were divided into two groups: diabetic nephropathy group and no diabetic nephropathy group. Statistical analyses were performed with the use of SPSS16.0 software. We studied the changes of serum PANDER in different groups and its association with other clinic index. Results (1) Serum PANDER was higher in T2DM group than normal control group (P<0.05). And serum PANDER was higher in diabetic nephropathy group than no diabetic nephropathy group (P<0.05). (2) Pearson correlation analyses showed that PANDER was positively correlated with age,BMI,HbA1c,UAER,HOMA-IR (P<0.05 or P<0.01). (3)Multiple linear regression analyses showed that PANDER was independently with age, BMI and HOMA-IR. And multiple linear regression analyses showed that UAER was independently with PANDER.Conclusion There is an association of PANDER with type 2 diabetes and diabetic nephropathy.
