Objective:To further study the relationship between diabetes and thyroid disease through the analysis of the changes of thyroid hormones level and relative elements in type 2 diabetes patients. Methods:To select 112 T2DM patients who stayed in the endocrine department of our hospital from December in 2009 to February in 2010, among which 48 were male patients and the other were female. We tested their body temperature, pulse, blood pressure, height, body weight and waist, body mass index (BMI), waist hip ratio (WHR), systolic blood pressure (sBP)and diastolic blood pressure (dBP). Fasting blood was obtained for analyses of fasting plasma glucos (FPG),serum total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), blood urea nitrogen(BUN), serum creatinine(Cre), blood urea acid (UA), urea protein (U-pro), glycosylated hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c) and thyroid hormones free tri-iodothyronine(FT3), free thyroxine(FT4), stimulating hormone(TSH), thyroid peroxidase antibodies(TPOAb)and thyroid prortin antibodies(TGAb) by standard laboratory techniques. Compared the different levels of FT3,FT4,TSH,TPOAb and TGAb among different groups with different blood sugar levels, and find out the major factors that can influence the thyroid homones level through single element relative and Multi-linear regression Analysis. Results:The FT3 level in FPG>13.47mmol/Land 8.81-13.47 mmol/L groups was significantly lower than in the FPG<8.81 mmol/L groups (p<0.01,0.05). The TSH level in the FPG>13.47mmol groups was significantly lower than in the FPG<8.81 mmol/L groups (p<0.01). FPG,age, course of disease,U-pro and the changes of BUN were negatively correlated with FT3 level (p<0.05),the changes of TG and HDL-C were negatively correlated with FT4 level (p<0.05), TF was negatively correlated with TSH (p<0.05).We also found that FPG,U-pro,BUN were the independent factors of FT3. Through multi-linear regression analysis, we also found that U-Pro(X1),BUN(X2) and FPG(X3) and FT3(Y) were independently relative (Y=0.8—0.055X1—0.006X2—0.004X3, P1=0.004. P2=0.007. P3=0.048), TG(X1) and BUN(X2) and FT4(Y) were independently relative (Y=1.366—0.016X1—0.007X2, p1=0.000. p2=0.001), TG(X) and TSH(Y) were independently relative (Y=0.055+0.057X, p=0.001)Conclusions:Testing the changes of thyroid homones levelsis of great clinical significance for assessment, prophylaxis judgement and situation control in diabetic patients.
