Background:Stroke recovery (onset 2 weeks or 1 month to less than six months) is the critical period of stroke rehabilitation. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment of this stage has its unique advantages. In order to promote stroke recovery, reduce complications and prevent recurrence, the main method of this period is to seize the main pathogenesis in patients, adhere practical treatment. Objective:According to the clinical observation on Acupuncture and Ziwuliuzhu point ultrasound treatment for stroke, evaluate the clinical efficacy of this method on the stroke recovery period in patients, and thus offers a simple, precise effect treatment for stroke recovery. Methods:This study used clinical observation, randomized controlled method.60 cases from Acupuncture wards in our hospital, according to random number table, were divided into treatment and control groups. Patients in the treatment group received acupuncture and ziwuliuzhu points ultrasound treatment; patients in the control group were only given acupuncture. Ziwuliuzhu Points altrasound treatment selecting acupoints by Ziwuliuzhu Najia method and Lingguibafa method. Acupoints were given ultrasonic stimulation. Traditional ordinary acupuncture were used as acupuncture method. All the patients were treated once a day,12 days as a course of treatment, 2 days off between the total of 3 courses of treatment. Respectively, before and after treatment rating scale were used to observe the clinical efficacy. In this study, the Chinese stroke clinical neurological impairment rating scale (1995) to assess patients'change in neurologic impairment; the modified Barthel index to assess patients'activities of daily living, Stroke Specific Quality of Life Scale (SS-QOL) to assess patients'change in quality of life. Results:After the third course, the treatment group had a total effective rate of 83.3%, and 5 cases were significant improved,20 cases were improved in effect,4 cases were improved,1 case had no effect. The control group had a total effective rate of 60.0%, and 3 cases wre significant improved.,15 cases were improved in effect,10 cases were improved,2 case had no effect. There was significant difference between the two groups by statistical analysis (P (0.05)1. After treatment, scores of the Chinese stroke clinical neurological impairment rating scale indicated that patients had improved neurologic impairment. After the first course of treatment, there was no significant difference in two groups. After the third treatment, the effect of the treatment group was better than the control group.2. After treatment, scores of the modified Barthel index indicated that patients had improved activities of daily living. After the first course of treatment, there was no significant difference in two groups. After the third treatment, the scores of the treatment group was higher than the control group.3. Both groups had improved quality of life after treatment. Improvement of the treatment group was bigger than the control group. Conclusions:Acupuncture and Ziwuliuzhu points ultrasound treatment can improve recovery of stroke patients with motor dysfunction and reduce neurological functional deficits. It can effectively improve the ability of stroke patients with activities of daily living, to improve the quality of life of patients. Acupuncture and Ziwuliuzhu points ultrasound treatment is effective for stroke recovery, and it is significantly better than simple acupuncture treatment.
