The Clinical Research On The Acupuncture Added Chinese Medicine To Treat Post-stroke Insomnia

Objective:This subject was about treating post-stroke insomnia from heart kidney disharmony. Based on the regulation of qi, we adopted acupuncture added Chinese medicine to treat stroke sequela, and acupuncture was three series of needle method adding sleeping three needles, meantime used Chinese medicine basing on the syndrome differentiation. The objective was to offer a effective integral rehabilitation method to the post-stroke insomnia.Methods:All the cases were from acupuncture in-department of Shenzhen traditional Chinese medicine hospital, and the period of hospitalization was from September 1st 2009 to March 31st 2010. Those who have met the criteria were divided into 2 groups:the treatment group and the control group. Each group had 30 patients. The treatment group was treated with three series of needle method adding sleeping three needles, meantime used Chinese medicine; both were treated one time a day, and 5 days a week, and 2 weeks was a course. The control group was treated with routine treatment.We observed two groups homochronously, and recorded the the pre-treatment scores and post-treatment scores of NIHSS scale and Athens scale. Meanwhile we observed the sleep quality improvements and consciousness,language,trunk movements to evaluate the integral rehabilitation effect.Results:We assessed the difference of the treatment effect between the two groups by NIHSS scale and Athens scale. After the treatment, the total effective rate of the treatment group was 95%,and the trunk movements improvements was 94%; the total effective rate of the control group was 78.9%, and the trunk movements improvements was 74%, there's a significantly difference between two groups (P<0.05).Conclusion:Clinical research showed that basing on the regulation of qi, adopted acupuncture added Chinese medicine to treat stroke sequela, and acupuncture was three series of needle method adding sleeping three needles, meantime used Chinese medicine, this method not only can improve the sleep quality, but also improve the consciousness,language,trunk movements. Therefore this offered a new method for post-stroke insomnia.
