Research On The Auditory Brainstem Response Instrument

With the younger age of hearing loss, newborn hearing screening is particularly important. ABR hearing test is now the gold standard of objective hearing test for detection hearing loss. Using of such method for newborn hearing screening, results are objective and accurate. Currently, the ABR testing equipment is not advantage for portable, in order to make testing screening faster and convenient, this paper based on the purpose of reducing size, reducing power consumption and making it portable, I design one device of testing equipment, to make the device miniaturization, low power and portability.Collected ABR signal is very small, submerged in a lot of noise. The signal processed by analog amplifying and filtering circuit then averaged in the DSP for the operation. In this system, we display the graphical on the LCD which greatly reduce the equipment size.ABR signal is produced by giving a single ear click sound stimulation, and the system through DSP and Codec to produce different hearing levels of stimulation; meanwhile, we can use the integrated AD and DA converter in the Codec to simplify the circuit.The small size and portable of the system provide a big convenient for newborn hearing test.
