ObjectiveSpiral CT scanning with thin and sinusitis were observed in patients with normal nasal septum and adjacent structures (middle turbinate) and the variation of the anatomical structures, To explore the association between the anatomic variations of nasal septum and chronic sinusitis (CRS).MethodNormal sinuses from 50 people and sinusitis or polyps in 50 patients with the variations of the Nosal Septum were scaned by thin CT at Shengjing Hospital Of Chinese Medical University From January 2009 to September 2009 were included. We divided them into two groups,the nomal,the CRS.50 patients excluding fungi infections, nasal inverted papilloma and nasal sinusitis secondary to benign and malignant tumors in patients with). CRS in various types of statistical variations in the nasal septum and middle turbinate variations.In order to clarify the correlation between the two, this study will examine the object of the normal group and the chronic sinusitis group of a group, select the side of the observation of a total of 178 objects observed, obtained more detailed data. Because sinonasal anatomical variations more, this study has been recognized the most common anatomical abnormality:moderate and severe deviation of nasal septum, middle turbinate gasification and reverse deviation, straight to observe of the middle turbinate.ResultCRS anatomic variation of nasal septum occur with close relationship with the severity of nasal septum variation, the incidence of bilateral CRS and severity are increasing.deviation Of nasal septum and chronic sinusitis,the extent and location of the difference between the correlation was significiant;the direction of deviation of nassal septum and chronic Sinusitis was no difference between the correlation significant. Also studied the variation of middle turbinate, middle turbinate patient group found the reverse deviation, the middle turbinate (vertical extensive) gasification, straight middle turbinate was higher than normal, that they are risk factors for CRS; Save as the above, other anatomical variations OMC still can not be considered risk factors for CRS.ConclusionSome anatomic variations of nasal sinus are related with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps.The CT examination is a routine method, could more distinctly display the normal anatomy and the vations of OMC. Moreover, they Provide a vivid map with bone structure for FESS, thereby contributing to the reduce of complications. The future for the OMC of the variation in CRS pathogenesis of research also depends on many factors, but also noted the consistency of the baseline comparison.
