ObjectiveTo investigate the clinical characteristics, treatment and prognosis of patients with MALT lymphomas.MethodsRetrospective study was done in 27 patients with MALT lymphomas.ResultsOf the 27 patients,12 cases were men and 15 cases were women, of median age of 54 years old(ages ranged from 34 to 78 years old). The most frequent locations were gastrointestinal tract, lungs, thyroid, breast, parotid, orbit, mediastinum and in turn; none was presence of B symptoms; ECOG>2 was seen in 4 patients,2 had locate dehydrogenase elevation; IPI>2 in 4 patients; 7 at stageâ…¢orâ…£; only one of the 8 cases gastric MALT lymphoma had information on detecting Helicobacter pylori, and his result was negative. However,he still got eradication of Helicobacter pylori for two weeks, endoscopy showed his lesions had no significant change; 5 received radiotherapy or surgery,18 received combined chemotherapy,4 received chemotherapy alone; 18 achieved complete remission(CR) after scheduled treatment, 3 achieved partial remission(PR); 5 relapsed,2 showed transformation to large B-cell,4 died; ConclusionMost MALT lymphoma patients present at diagnosis with an indolent disease with good performance status, few adverse biological prognostic factors, and long survival. It is important for gastric MALT lymphoma to detect helicobacter pylori and strengthen the inspection of molecular genetics, that will be useful for the diagnosis at early stage and proper treatments.
