Values Of Endoscopic Ultrasonography For Diagnosis And Treatment Of Duodenal Cysts

Objective:To evaluate the clinical value of the endoscopic ultrasonography(EUS) on diagnosis and treatment of duodenal cysts(DC).Methods:The data about clinical manifestation,conventinol gastroscope,EUS and follow-up of 174 Patients diagosed duodenal cysts by EUS in January 2003-March 2010 in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed.Results:All of 174 patients did not have presentations related to the lesions any signs.166 patients displayed duodenal protruding lesions for conventional endoscopy. The locations of 106 patients were bulb of duodenal,33patients were junction of bulb and decender,and 35 lesions were descender.There are more obvious features for DC. The lesions of 154 patients are single,20 cases are multiple, the lesions are always oval,mean diameter is 0.78cm(range from 0.27cm to 1.73cm). The pathological result is abnormal distribution and secretion of the columnar myxo-gland cell below the mucosal muscular layer..Most of patients follwed up regularly by endoscopy. Some patients followed up in the following 3-4 years and the lesions changed a little.Conclusion:The duodenal cysts is a benign tumor.The EUS is irreplaceably to dignose and differential dignose the duodenal cysts.From the features of endoscopy and ultrasound,we can dignose the disease accurately.
