Objective To investigate the association between arterial stiffness and early diabetic nephropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods A total of 135 patients with type 2 diabetes was studied,brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity which can reflect peripheral arterial stiffness was measured by automatic arterial stiffness measuring system VP-1000,albumin and creatinine was measured, and make a comprision according to the different groups divided by the results of albumin/creatinine ratio.Resultsâ‘ There were significant differences in baPWV,diastolic blood pressure, mean artery pressure, serum creatinine and fasting plasma glucose between two groups(p<0.05).â‘¡There was a positive correlation between age, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, pulse pressure, mean artery pressure, albumin/creatinine ratio, serum creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, serum uric acid, fasting C-peptide,2-hour C-peptide and baPWV showed by single factor correlation analysis methods.â‘¢Albumin/creatinine ratio, systolic blood pressure, age and blood urea nitrogen were independent risk factors of baPWV by multiple linear stepwise regression analysis methods. Conclusion BaPWV is significantly correlated with ACR, so arterial stiffness is related to the early diabetic nephropathy.
