Evaluation Ventricular Function Of Percutaneous Mitral Ballon Valuloplasty On Patients With Rheumatic Mitral Stenosis Using Tissure Doppler Imaging-Derived Tei Index

Objective: To investigate the feasibtlity and value of Tei index derived form tissue doppler imaging(TDI) in evaluation left and right ventricular functiong of patients with rheumatic mitral stenosis(MS) before and after percutaneous mitral ballon valvuloplasty(PBMV).Materials and methods: 36 patients'with valve stenosis mean age was 40.83±13.93.Control normal group consisted in 40 healthy volunteers mean age was 39.56±12.34.both left and right ventricular Tei index were examed by tranasthoracic echocardiography using IE33 imaging(Agilent Company USA). Evaluated the difference of ventricular functiong between valve stenosis patients before and after 1 day and 1 year by PBMV and healthy volunteers.Result: 1,Both left and right ventricular Tei index in patients with valve stenosis measured by TDI was higher than healthy volunteers(all P<0.01).2,Both left and right ventricular Tei index in patients with valve stenosis after 1 day PBMV were higher than healthy volunteers (all P<0.01).The right ventricular Tei index in patients with valve stenosis after 1 day PBMV were reduced compared with pre-operative(P<0.01),but the left ventricular Tei index in patients with valve stenosis after 1 day PBMV had no significantly compared with patients pre-operative ( P<0.05).3,Both left and right ventricular Tei index in patients with valve stenosis after 1 year PBMV was higher than healthy volunteers (all P<0.01);Both left and right ventricular Tei index in patients with valve stenosis after 1 year PBMV were reduced compared with patients pre-operative and after 1day PBMV(all P<0.01).Conclusions: Both left and right ventricular Tei index in patients with valve stenosis before and after 1 day and after 1 year by Percutaneous Mitral Ballon Valvuloplasty(PBMV) was higher than healthy volunteers. The right ventricular Tei index in patients with valve stenosis after 1 day by PBMV were reduced compared with pre-operative,noted the globle right ventricular function of patients with valve stenosis after 1 day PBMV to improved all over than the patients of pre-operative. Both left and right ventricular Tei index in patients with valve stenosis after 1 year by PBMV were reduced compared with pre-operative and after 1 day by PBMV.The left and right ventricular Tei index measured by TDI is also good to reflect the left and right ventricular function,and even more convenient and exact. It is improvement and useful recruitment of the traditional measurement.
