Objective To explore the application of the neuronavigation to microsurgery for the intracranial small lesions. Methods The intracranial small lesions were resected by neuronavigation -assisted microsurgery in 16 patients, among all cases,1 suffered from eningioma,6 astrocytoma, 2 cavernous angioma,2 metastatic cancers,2 inflammatory granulomas,1 fungous brain abscess, 1 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma,1 gliosis. Results The mean registration error was (2.1±0.8)㎜ in 16 patients with intracranial small lesions and all the lesions were accurately localized once,of whom 9 received total resection of the lesions,1 subtotal,5 only biopsy and 1 abscess centesis. All the patients recovered wel1.No patient died. There were not complications caused by navigation error in all the patient. Conclusion The StealthStation neuronavigational system can accurately oriented the intracranial small lesions and increa- se surgical safety and reduce the operative complications in the patients with intracranial small lesions.
