Objective:To investigate the expression of MUC1 and MUC2 in Primary carcinoma of the gallbladder(PCG) and Normal gallbladder tissues; As well as the correlation of MUCI, MUC2 expression with pathological types, differentiation, lymph node metastasis and Nevin staging.Materials and Methods:We collected 60 cases of gallbladder carcinoma and 60 cases of normal tissue samples of Zibo Mining Group Central Hospital during the period from January 2000 to January 2009 to MUC1, MUC2 immunohistochemistry, combined with pathological images, learning their expression in primary gallbladder cancer and normal gallbladder tissues. Results:Immunothistochemical analysis showed that the positivity rate of MUC1 and MUC2 in PCG was 63.3% (38/60) and 41.7%(25/60), much higher than that in normal gallbladder tissues[23.3% (14/60) and 13.3% (8/60)], The expression levels of MUC1 and MUC2 in PCG was significantly higher than that in normal gallbladder tissues(P<0.05). The expression levels of MUC1 and MUC2 in PCG had also statistically correlation with pathological types, differentiation, lymph node metastasis and Nevin staging(P<0.05)Conclusions:MUC1, MUC2 can be used as prognostic indicators in patients with gallbladder carcinoma, and may also be used as Tumor marker of early gallbladder cancer screening.
