Objective:Screening and identification of root canal with Enterococcus faecalis. Detect the ability of Enterococcus faecalis biofilm formation. Explore the relationship between Enterococcus faecalis biofilm formation ability and clinical manifestation. Methods:Collected the clinical symptoms of 135 teeth of 118 patients, records of teeth of the clinical symptoms, signs and related information. Disinfect teeth, dental drill to remove the original sterile filling, K file to remove the root canal filling material. Reference to X-ray image of the root canal length, the sterile paper point enclosure 60s to get the root canal bacterial samples in root canal. Selective medium and automatic analyzer for detection of root canal with Enterococcus faecalis. 96 well plate with the establishment of Enterococcus faecalis in vitro biofilm model, combined with crystal violet staining and microplate reading, testing of clinical isolates of Enterococcus faecalis biofilm formation ability, analysis the relationship between biofilm formation capacity and clinical manifestation.Results:1. After selective medium and microbial identification system, 135 re-treatment root canal, detected 52 cases of E. faecalis, the detection rate was 38.5%.2. Against clinical isolates of Enterococcus faecalis biofilm formation ability to detect 36 (69.2%) of strains with biofilm forming ability, of which 34 (65.4%) of strains with moderate biofilm formation ability,2(3.8%) strong biofilm formation ability. Statistical analysis revealed with fistula of the teeth and teeth no fistula of the capacity of biofilm formation was significantly (P<0.05). Other clinical symptoms or signs and no significant compared with biofilm formation abilityConclusion:1. Most clinical isolates of Enterococcus faecalis has the capacity of biofilm formation.2. In the re-treatment root canal, the ability of Enterococcus faecalis separated from the teeth with clinical symptoms and signs biofilm formation is better than those separated from no clinical symptoms and signs of teeth.
