| Objective By observing the effect of oligosaccharide on the proliferation of a H2O2-producing lactobacillus from human vagina in vitro to provide evidence for combing oligosaccharide with lactobacillus as a complex living preparation of lactobacillus to treat and prevent genital tract infection more effectivelyMethod Isolated and identified a predominant H2O2-producing lactobacillus from human vagina, compare the effect of three different kinds and concentrations of oligosaccharides on the proliferation of the H2O2-producing lactobacillus from human vagina in vitro by detecting the changes of OD600 in cultivation mediumResult The lactobacillus isolated from human vagina is identified as lactobacillus crispatus. The optimal pH for the growth of lactobacillus crispatus is pH7 and the growth of Escherichia coli DH52 and Staphylococcus aureus could be arrested by lactobacillus crispatus in antagonistic activities. The OD600 increased with the raise of concentration of three oligosacchaides in cultivation medium. Isomalto-oligosaccharide is most effective for the increase of OD600 in cultivation mediumConclution The results indicated lactobacillus crispatus could proliferate by using three different kinds of oligosaccharides(isomalto-oligosaccharide, stachyose or fructo-oligosaccharide)as carbon sourse, these oligosaccharides could promote the proliferation of lactobacillus crispatus which can produce H2O2 from human vagina in vitro. |
