BackgroudTachyarrhythmia is commonly seen in various cardiovascular diseases. It may influence blood circulation, cause and aggravate heart failure and may lead to death. It manifests clinically in sharp heart beats, panic and can severely disturb patients'life and work. Athough western anti-arhythmia midicine is strikingly effective, toxic and side effects can not be avoided. Thus, reseaches on anti-arhythmia midicine are not popular anymore in recent years. Insteadly, interventional therapyies such as RFCA and cardiac pacemaker are developing in high speed, which have showed relatively good effect and high expense as well. Both ancient and modern TCM literatures record, that needling on Neiguan can release clinical symptoms and improve life quality of tachcardia patients conveniently, quickly and safely. However, these literatures are mostly case reports and lack of designed randomized controlled perspective study to evaluate the effect scientifically. Therefore, further clinical researches are needed.Object i vesThrough a randomized controlled perspective study, in which a fake Neiguan group was set up as the control group, to evaluate the immediate effectiveness of needling on Neiguan in treating tachyarrhythmia so as to find a convenient and fast way of treating tachyarrhythmia.MethodsAccording to methods of randomized controlled perspective study,80 valid objects were divided equally into tratment group and control group. The tratment group were given treatment of needling on Neiguan while the control group were given acupuncure on a fake Neiguan(ie. a optional point located within 1cm aroud Neiugan). Stimulated with the same mild reinforcing-reducing method and after needling sensation was obtained, needles would be maintained for 30 minutes, during which cardiac rhythm, heart rate and blood pressure etc. would be measured every 5 minutes, and clinical symptoms would be observerd after treatment. All data was entered into the computer and processed with statistical analysis software Concise Statis (CCS13.0). Differnt data processing methods were applied according to different indexes and types of data:enumeration data was analysed with X2 test; measurement data was analysed with t test; and graded grouped data with Ridit test.ResultsThe markedly efective rate of anti-arrhythmia of the treatment group was 25%and the total efective rate was 60.0%; and the markedly TCM-symptom-improved rate was 35.0%and the total TCM-symptom-improved rate was 85.0%; both of which were of significance in comparison to the control group (P<0.05).Effect of symptom improvement with needling on Neiguan was not related to patients'gender, age, course of disease and type of TCM syndromes(P>0.05). Post-treatment ventricular rate of treatment group was significantly lower than control group (P<0.01).Total efective rates among different types of arhythmia of treatment were of no significant difference (P>0.05). As to non-sinus tachycardia patients, total cardioversion rate of treatment grouyp was significantly higher than control group (P<0.05)ConclusionNeedling on Neiguan was proved to have certain immediate effect in treating tachyarrhythmia and could improve clinical synptoms rather well. Moreover, effect of symptom improvement with needling on Neiguan was not related to patients'gender, age, course of disease and type of TCM syndromes. During treatment process, besides mild pain on the punctured area which released after needle withdrawl, no other sideeffect was observed.
