Purpose:The main purpose of this study was to analyze the pathological changes of bone tendon junction injury in lateral condyle of rabbit forelimb which was caused by only punctured injury and punctured injury followed by self-blood injection and provided information for study of animal models of bone tendon junction injury.Methods:33 adult Female New Zealand white rabbits were used in the experimental (18 weeks of age,2.8±0.3kg), lateral condyle of the right and left forelimbs were to be dealed with which have a total of 66 samples. The rabbits were randomly divided into 6 groups:control group (CON, n =6); experimental groups:1 day (n=12),5天(n=12),7天(n=12), 14天(n=12),28 days (n=12). The control group (CON) was not treated; lateral condyle of left forelimb were acupunctured with their own blood injection (NB 1,5,7,14,28, n=6 respectively); lateral condyle of right forelimb only were acupunctured (N 1,5,7,14,28, n=6 respectively), Cage moving and feeding freely. Lateral condyle of rabbits and the tendon attached were harvested after injury 1 day,5 days,7 days,14 days,28 days, respectively.Results:Compared with CON group, at lday,5days,7days,14days,28 days, both of N group and NB group showed significantly changes which revealed poor alignment of collagen fibers,cell nuclei were significantly increasing, the tide line in fibrocartilage zone changed or disappeared. Compared with N group, NB group's cell nuclei were significantly increasing. Compared with CON group, at 1 day,5 days,7 days,14 days, N group and NB group's fibrocartilage zone thickness did not significantly change.At 28 days, N group and NB group's fibrocartilage thickness were significantly decreased. At 28 days, N group and NB group showed some new bone generated.Conclusion:Only punctured injury and punctured injury followed by self-boold injection all contributed to pathological changes in the bone tendon junction of lateral condyle of the rabbit forelimb. Poor alignment of collagen fibers,cell nuclei were significantly increasing, the tide line in fibrocartilage zone changed or disappeared at time 1day,5day,7day. These pathological changes were still presence at time 14day,28day. Cell nuclei significantly increasd between N group and NB group at time lday,5day. Fibrocartilage thickness were no significantly difference at time lday,5day,7day,14day. Fibrocartilage thickness were significantly decreased, some new bone generated at time 28day. There was no significantly difference between N group and NB group at time 28day.
