ObjectivesTo explore a more suitable pathway after UPPP in order to reduce the cracking of incision suture.Methods136 cases of OSAHS in our department were collected from December 2008 to January 2010.All of them had accepted treatment of H-UPPP. These patients were divided into three groups.Group A was given high-nutrition food 5d-7d through the Nasogastric tube.Group B according to the diet of tonsillectomy, was given cool liquid food the next day, semi-liquid food was given from the 3rd day to the 6th day and soft food was given from the 7th day. Group C was give enough energy and liquid through the intravenous infusion. The cracking of incision suture and secondary bleeding between the three groups were compared within a week after H-UPPP.ResultsIncision suture cracking and secondary bleeding occurred in less patients of group A and C than that of group B (P<0.05)ConclusionsOSAHS patients accepted H-UPPP treatment are suggested feeding nasaleating or parenteral nutrition 4 days, which may reduce sutured incision cracking and secondary bleeding.
