Abstract/Summary:
Background and ObjectiveLumbar disc herniation(LDH) combine cauda equina syndrome(CES)are not uncommon in clinical practice and its serious consequences, high morbidity. Can an early and accurate diagnosis, timely and effective treatment, a direct impact on neurological function and urinary function improved or restored. Due to lumbar disc herniation combined factors affecting prognosis of cauda equina syndrome, more, more complex, and there is no conclusion, this study from the following factors affecting the prognosis of the nine studies, using Logistical regression analysis for statistical analysis. Has selected the most relevant prognostic factors for clinical work in order to improve the cure rate of the disease.Materials and methodsCollected in our hospital in 2005-2008 years of clinical diagnosis of 30 cases of patients with LDH combined CES. Select the nine relevant factors including:nerve injury, LDH of time, age, gap, CES time, operative time, whether sciatica missing, whether chronic low back pain, whether intestinal dysfunction. Follow-up 2-3 years. Using SPSS FOR WINDOWS 17.0 software for the above-mentioned related factors of binary non-conditional Logistic regression analysis, set y as the dependent variable, x1~x9 as covariates, the algorithm select the forward method. While taking advantage of variance test to determine whether it makes sense Logistic regression equation. Establish regression model, substituting the x value into the model, the calculated y values. And to make trend charts. The same x value of the different groups to doχ2 test. (P=0.05). Results1. x3 (age), x6 (operating time) into the regression model. Model validation by theχ2 test,χ2 value as in Table 4, P<0.05, model has statistical significance. x3, x6 relevance were 90% and 93%.2. To establish regression model:3. Substituted into x3 (age) and x6 (operation time) values, age, operative time and the y value of the two factors were positively correlated. Namely:the increase with age, the prognosis is getting worse. With the operative time was delayed, the prognosis is getting worse.4. All age groups between the chi-square test:χ2age= 20.476 P<0.05. Indicates the statistical difference between age groups.χ2 operative time=17.159 P<0.05, indicated that the operative time was statistically different between groups.Conclusion1. LDH of age on the prognosis of the merger affect the CES, and increases with age, the prognosis would be getting worse.2. LDH operation time of the merger affect the prognosis of CES, and CES as the time between onset to the growth of surgery, the prognosis will be getting worse.3. In this study, to some extent for the treatment of LDH combined CES has helped.
