ObjectTo study the significance of the glycosylated haemoglobin A1c level as the independent risk factor of the patients with the coronary heart disease and diabetes mellitus.MethodRandomly selected 94 patients of coronary heart disease complicated with diabetes mellitus.94 patients were dignosed as coronary heart disease by coronary angiography having one or more artery lesion degree>50%.The severity of coronary artery was analyzed by calculating the Gensini score. All the patients above excluded acute myocardial infarction. And the diagnosis of diabetes mellitus including having the history of diabetes and diagnosis of diabetes after hospitalization. All the patients above excluded strictly controlled the level of blood glucose by using insulin or drugs within 3 months recently. Using the verification of multiple linear regression to analysis if the level of glycosylated haemoglobin A1c or other factor is positively correlated with the severity of coronary artery disease in the patients with coronary heart disease complicated with diabetes mellitus.ResultsThe mean Gensini score was 67.19±35.77.The glycosylated haemoglobin A1c level (r=0.433,p<0.01), the level of blood glucose(r=0.279,p<0.05) and the duration of diabetes (r=0.256,p<0.05) were positively correlated with the Gensini score by the verification of multiple linear regression. For the glycosylated haemoglobin A1c level had the advantages of steady, less interference and the most obvious positive correlation with the severity of coronary artery, it is superior to the level of blood glucose and the duration of diabetes.ConclusionThe glycosylated haemoglobin A1c level could be one better independent risk factor of the severity of the coronary artery in the patients with coronary heart disease and diabetes mellitus by the verification of multiple linear regression analysis.
