Object:To study the characteristics of multiple intracranial aneurysms and explore the incidence of rupture, associated risk factors, therapeutics strategy in order to improve clinical outcomes.Methods:Seventy-five patients with MIA admitted the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University from 2008 Jan to 2010 Feb were retrospectively identified. Of all patients, Sixty-two patients managed were selected to analyzed treatment strategy and clinical outcomes.Results:Thirty-one patients underwent surgical clipping, eighteen received endovascular coiling and three were managed by combined treatment. Glasgow Outcome Scale(GOS) was used to measure outcomes.16.1% patients experienced bad outcomes (GOS 1-3) and the average GOS was 4.52.There was no recurrence and the second SAH in all the patients during one to fourteen months of followed-up period. Conclusions:The principle of treatment of MIA is to early obliterate the ruptured aneurysm. Preventive surgical treatment of unruptured aneurysm should be undertaken by experienced neurosurgeons according to relevant factors in order to obtain the best possible cost-benefit ratio. Inappropriate surgical manipulation can lead to serious clinical outcomes, such as delayed neurological deficit, in pursuit of dealing with all of lesion regardless of specific problem.
