Clinical Research In Bowel Preparation Before Capsule Endoscopy

Objective To explored a better method on bowel preparation for capsule endoscopy.Methods 80 cases were randomly divided into three groups to receive a bowel preparation of three different ways(A,B and C) before capsule endoscopy. Group A 30 cases, Group B 30 cases and Group C 20 cases; Group B was divi-ded into Group B1 and Group B2. Their degrees in cleaness and intraluminal gas bubbles in different segments of intestine (proximal,middle and distal small inte-stine), and adverse effect were compared.Results The clearing effective power of distal small intestines were signi-ficantly better in Group B(73%) and Group C (90%) than in Group A (50%). There were not significant differece in the clearing effective powers in the prox-imal and middle small intestines in the three groups(P>0.05). The effective powers of reducing air bubbles in the three different segments small intestine in Group B and C were significantly better than in Group A.(P<0.05). The clearing effective power in distal intestines in Group B2 was 93%, better (P<0.005) than in Group B1(53%). There were not significant difference in the clearing effect-tive powers in proximal and middle small intestines between Group B1 and Group B2(P>0.05). The effective powers of reducing air bubbles of the prox- imal intestines in Group B2(93%) was better than in Group B1(53%)(P<0.05). Meanwhile, there were not significant difference between the two groups in middle and distal small intestines(P>0.05).There were not significant difference in the clearing effective powers and the effective powers of reducing air bubbles of all the segments of small intestine between Group B2 and Group C(P>0.05). The incidence of total adverse effects were not significant difference in the different groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Method C(magnesium sulfate+complex polyethylene glycol +complex catharsis fluid+stomach developerof B type hypersound) have high degrees in cleaness, better effective powers of reducing air bubbles, economic cost,better tolerance,and less adverse effects,it is a better preparation of intestine before capsule endoscopy.3 L of complex polyethylene glycol have higher degrees in cleaness in distal intestines than 2L ofcomplex polyethylene glycol.Fractionation apply stomach developer of B type hypersound and Fractionation apply complex polyethylene glycol have better effective powers of reducing air bubbles in proximal small intestines,than Master single test apply complex polyethylene glycol, associated with eccoprotic.
