Chemical Constituents Of Salvia Miltiorrhiza Bunge Var. Alba

Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge var. alba C.Y.Wu.et H.W.Li is diffient from Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge (Danshen), whose coronal is white of light yellow. It is distributed mainly over Tai'an and Zhangqiu district, Shandong Province. Danshen, the roots of Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge is a traditional Chinese medicine. It is helpful to cure blood bleeding and distract heart troubles, so it can be widely utilized for the remedy of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular system diseases and disorders, such as coronary heart disease, angina, atherosclerosis, dysmenorrheal and so on. Besides the efficiency listed above, the root of S. miltiorrhiza Bunge var. alba C.Y.Wu.et H.W.Li is especially effective in vascular ectasis with prosperous clinical use to cure thromboangiitis obliterans.In this paper, we continued our study on the basis of the reseach which had been done by Cao Chunquan and 15 compounds were obtained from the roots of it by chromatographic techniques and their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis. The 15 compounds are RO-090680, tanshinoneâ… , arucadiol, danshenxinkun B, tanshinoneâ…¡B, methylene tanshinquinone,1,2-dihdrodanshinquinone, methylene-dihydrotanshinquinone,1,2,15,16-tetrahydrotanshinquinone,3-hydroxy-2-isopropyl-8,8-dimethyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydrophenanthrene-1,4-dione,8-hydroxy-1,6-dimethyl-1,2-dihydrophenanthro[1,2-b]furan-10,11-dione, DS-27, hydroxymethylenetanshinquinine, 2,3-bis((E)-3-(3-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl)acryloyloxy)succinic acid and salvianolic acid B.Among them,8-hydroxy-1,6-dimethyl-1,2-dihydrophenanthro[1,2-b]furan-10,11-dione,DS-27 and 2,3-bis((E)-3-(3-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl) acryloyloxy) succinic acid are novel compounds;1,2-dihydrotanshinquinone, methylenedihydrotanshinquinone,3-hydroxy-2-isopropyl-8,8-dimethyl-5,6,7, 8-tetrahydrophenanthrene-1,4-dione, tanshinone IIB, arucadiol and hydroxymethy-lenetanshinquinone were isolated from the plant for the first time.
