[Objective] Preliminary study was made to observe the relationship between idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP) and Helicobacter pylori(Hp) infection, and to observe whether or not the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in favor of enhancing the number of platelets. To analyze the prevalence of Helicobacter pylori infection of adults and children with upper gastrointestinal symptoms.【Methods】41 cases of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura patients accod to the opt-in condition and xenophobia conditions, they were selected from Department of Hematology of the First People's Hospital of Yunnan Provinced and the Children's Hospital of Kunming City, from February 2008 to November 2008.40 cases of normal controls, which were come from the Department of Gastroenterology of the First People's Hospital of Yunnan Province and the First Hospital of Kunming City, with gastrointestinal symptoms, and undergone upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and blood routine examination, and has not obvious abnormality. Using ImmunoCard HpSA to diagnose Helicobacter pylori infection.23 cases of Hp-positive patients of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura undergone the treatment of anti-ITP, at the same time increase with anti-Hp treatment,17 cases become negative; During the 41 cases of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura patients those 18 cases of Hp-negative patients as the control group, the negative of the 17 patients as the control group, and the post-treatment platelet count were compared.120 cases of adults and children with upper gastrointestinal symptoms,60 cases in each group of adults and children.120 cases with upper gastrointestinal symptoms were selected, which were from Kunming and the surrounding areas beteween March 2008 to November 2008; 60 adult cases selected from the Department of Gastroenterology of the First People's Hospital of Yunnan Province and the First People's Hospital of Kunming City.60 children cases selected from the Children's Hospital of Kunming City. Using ImmunoCard HpSA to diagnose Helicobacter pylori infection.【Results】ITP group and the normal control group of Hp-positive infection rates were 56.10%(23/41),35.0%(14/40), ITP group Hp-positive was significantly higher than the normal control group (P<0.05).23 cases of Hp-positive patients with anti-ITP and anti-Hp treatment, negative in 17 cases,6 cases of non-negative, negative 17 patients in the control group and 4-8 weeks after treatment platelet count had a significant difference, after Helicobacter pylori eradication the platelet count with obvious restoration. The patients of no-eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection with no significant changes in the number of platelets. The cases with H.pylori infection were undergone HpSA and platelet count review after 4 to 8 weeks of treatment,17 cases of HpSA were became negative. After 4 to 8 weeks of treatment, the 17 cases with platelet count [(81.50±8.56)×109/L] than that before treatment [(23.86±9.43)×109/L] was significantly higher (t=2.983, P<0.01), Platelet counts with the control group after treatment [(68.50±13.37)×109/L],the difference was significantly (t=2.431, P<0.05). Adults group and the children group of Hp-positive infection rates were 38.3% (23/60),18.3%(11/60). Hp-positive infection rates of two groups have the existence of significant differences (P<0.05).[Conclusion] Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura patients infected with Helicobacter pylori,Hp-positive rate is higher than normal; Helicobacter pylori infection in patients with positive treatment was given to the eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection is conductive to enhancing the number of platelets, ITP patients should be routinely detected Helicobacter pylori. The rate of Helicobacter pylori infection of adult patients with upper gastrointestinal symptoms is higher than that of children cases (P<0.05). Helicobacter pylori stool antigen test as a non-invasive detection of Helicobacter pylori infection diagnostic methods, with the characteristics of convenient, simple, easy to repeat.
