Objective:To study the clinical effects of 2/100Hz HAN'S acuponint nerve stimulator (HANS) combined with diazepam on the withdrawal syndromes of the alchol dependence in Chinese male patients, to compare therapeutic effects of HANS combined with diazepam and diazepam in treating withdrawal syndromes and alchol craving of alchol dependence male chinese patients. Methods:Forty male chinese alchol dependence patients meting the criteria were sampled from Inpatient Ward of Shandong Mental Health Center since Oct.2008 to May.2009. They were randomly assigned to study group (treated with 2/100Hz HAN'S acuponint nerve stimulator combined with diazepam by oral administration 10mg twice a day) and the control group (single diazepam by oral administration 20mg twice a day) for the treatment of 7 days, and assessed with the Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment of Alcohol Scale (CIWA-Ar) in the following 12h,24h,48h,72h,d4,d5,d6 and d7 time of the treatment. The degrees of craving experienced for alchol was self reported on visual analogue scale (VAS) in the following 12h,d4 and d7 time of the treatment.Results:1 Comparison of the study group and control group on the total scores of CIWA-Ar: There was no singnificant differences on 12h and 24h in T-test; there was singnificant differences on 48h,72h,d4,d5,d6,d7 in T-test (p<0.01).2 Comparison of the study group and control group on the factors scores of CIWA-Ar: There was no significant differences on 12h in T-test of ten factors such as nausea and vomiting, tremor, perspiration, anxiety, agitation, touch sensation abnormity, auditory sensation abnormity, visual sensation abnormity, headache and distention of head, orientation force. There was significant differences on 24h,48h,72h,d4,d5 in each T-test of nausea and vomiting factor(p<0.01). There was no significant differences on 24h in T-test of tremor factor; and was singnificant differences on 48h,72h,d4,d5,d6,d7 in each T-test of tremor factor(p<0.01). There was no singnificant differences on 24h,48h in each T-test of perspiration factor; and was singnificant differences on 72h,d4,d5,d6,d7 in each T-test of perspiration factor(p<0.01). There was no singnificant differences on 24h in T-test of anxiety factor; and was singnificant differences on 48h,72h,d4,d5,d6,d7 in each T-test of anxiety factor. There was no singnificant differences on 24h in T-test of agitation factor; and was singnificant differences on 48h,72h in each T-test of agitation factor;and all syndromes disappeared almostly in the fallowing days d4,d5,d6,d7. Five factors (touch sensation abnormity, auditory sensation abnormity, visual sensation abnormity, headache and distention of head, orientation force) all had light syndromes(scores<5); and there had no singnificantly differences(p>0.05). 3 Comparison of the study group and control group on the scores of VAS craving experienced for alchol on 12h,d4,d7:there had no singnificantly differences on 12h in T-test; there had singnificantly differences on d4,d7 in each T-test(p<0.01).Conclusion:1 2/100Hz HAN'S acuponint nerve stimulator (HANS) combined with diazepam could singnificantly slight the withdrawal syndromes of the alchol dependence male chinese patients; and had significant function in protecting grievous withdrawal syndromes after stop drinking.2/100Hz HAN'S combined with diazepam acuponint nerve stimulator had better efficacy to control withdrawal syndromes than diazepam of alchol dependence male chinese patients.2 2/100Hz HAN'S acuponint nerve stimulator combined with diazepam had less alchol craving in the treatment of withdrawal syndromes of alchol dependence male Chinese patients. 3 The Chinese Version Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment of Alcohol Scale had simple operation and thus is promising for application.
