Background and Objective Pneumonia is one of the most common diseases among the respiratory infection.Pneumonia accounts for 10% mortality in the world. At present, there are two problems in deal with pneumonia, one is the early diagnosis, another one is the appropriate treatment corresponding to the severity of pneumonia. Therefore, people are constantly looking for new inflammatory marker that could help us to solve the problems. Methods 42 patients with pneumonia and 30 crowd controls were enrolled. All the patients selected in this trial had been collected basic information, associated diseases, imaging examination, microbiology, blood gases analysis, Curb-65 Score and PSI Score. Meanwhile, detected the clinical values of PCT,ADM and TREM-1, respectively within the first day,at the third day and the seventh day of admission. The concentration of PCT,ADM and TREM-1 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosobent assay(ELISA) .Results 1.The concentration of ADM and TREM-1 in serum were higher than those in controls with statistics significance. Operated receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and calculated the areas under curve, the sensitivity and specificity of diagnosis for ADM are higher than CRP,WBC,ESR. 2.There was a significant correlation between the concentration of PCT and ADM with severity of pneumonia (use CURB-65 score). 3.There was a significant positive correlation between the concentration of PCT,ADM and TREM-1 and PSI score .Conclution ADM is a good marker to diagnose pneumonia. PCT and ADM have correlation with the severity of pneumonia. It demotes that PCT and ADM have the contribution for doctors judging correctly and promptly in the condition of pneumonia. There was a significant positive correlation between the concentration of PCT,ADM and TREM-1 and PSI score.
