Study On Performance Assessment On Hi-Tech Equipment Purchase And Management In A Tertiary Teaching Hospital

Major medical equipment, especially major medical equipment which is one of the symbols of the modern medical university, is the precondition to improve the quality of scientific research, and to some degree, determine the lever of medical and technology are very important to the modern medical science. Hence the management research of the major medical equipment has gradually become one of the important research topics in health undertakings administration all over the worldThe major medical equipment management is the general description to a series of jobs in the installation planning, organization, co-working, controlling and so on, which covers the process of the installation selecting, purchasing, installing, accepting, using, maintenance and abandoning, and it runs to provide the most convenient installations to the scientific research, and to exert the installations' utmost efficiency. Based on the Thought of System and Health Economics, study aimed at properly deploying and using of major medical equipment in the Teaching Hospital and enhancement of one's unified benefits was performed. Employing Performance Appraisal and Economic Appraisal Method, the systemic analysis in views of the investment, use, maintenance and management of mostly major medical equipment in the Teaching Hospital was accomplished. A scientific Using Performance Appraisal System of major medical equipment in the Teaching Hospital was set up to reflect the installations' comprehensive status making use of the index of technical status, community benefit and economic benefit. This paper provides a scientific method for using performance appraisal of major medical equipment' management in the Teaching Hospital which was testified to be feasible, workable and utilizable.In the condition of market economy, the survival and development of a hospital depend heavily on it's operation results. Restrained by factors such as supply and demand relation, hospital size and price system, the increase of income level is limited. An exclusive drive for income level will not only pose a heavy burden on patients, but also Increase the level of medical cost. In view of resource allocation and management state, there exists a large elastic space for medical cost. Therefore, it is very important for a hospital to improve economic benefits by cost accounting method, i.e ,making resource allocation more reasonable and lowering costs by cost analyzing and controlling.So far, the major medical equipment management system based on cost-benefit analysis has been applied in our hospital, and the results demonstrate that, this system can improve the standard and scientific management of large-scale medical equipments including the quantization and accuracy of data analysis on equipments.
