The Effect Of ShuGanMingMu Pill On The Patients Of The Depression Of The Liver' Qi And On The Experimental Optical Nerve's Damage

Objective: In order to research the clinical effect and the protection against damage of optical nerve for optic atrophy of the depression of the liver' Qi and search out the mechanism of Shuganmingmu pill(SGMMP) for optical atrophy.Methods: Clinical section: All cases of optical atrophy patients from the No.1 affiliated hospital of Hunan of TCM,were randomly divided into two groups: SGMMP group including 23 cases(33eyes) and Mecobalamin group including 23 cases(29eyes). Index of treatment: Vision , Mean defect(MD), The peak time of the flash vision evoked potential p₁₀₀ wave(FVEPp₁₀₀) and the multiple scores of manifestation of TCM. Experimental section: Japan big-white - ear -rabbits(32rabbits), 4 for nomal group ,4 for surgical damage group, the left of rabbits were randomly divided into 3 groups,each group was secondly divided tow groups ,one was after-three-day group(4 rabbits) and the other was after-14-day group(4 rabbits). The index , which showed the extent of the nerve damage was the number of ganglion cell.Results: 1.Clinical observation: both the medicine and the herb have the function for treating optic atrophy. There was significance between before and after treatment(p<0.05) . 2.The group of SGMMP was better than the group of Mecobalamin in clinical effect(p<0.05) . 3.There were actively related function between improvement of the optic function and the manifection from TCM. 4.The experimented study showed, there was no significance between SGMMP and Mecobalamin in protection from damagement of optic nerve (p>0.05).Conclusion: SGMMP had better effect for the depression of Optic atrophy The mechanism is to improve the circulation of retina, supply the optic nerve nourishment, adjust the syndrome of whole body for reducing the threshold of vision.
