Abstract/Summary:
ObjectiveThe influence of free radical scavenging to neuron in functional area injured rats observed by optical intrinsic signal imaging (OISI).Abstract ObjectiveTo study The influence of free radical scavenging- Edaravone to neuron in functional area of injured rats by optical intrinsic signal imaging (OISI) in vivo and electron microscope.MethodsMale adult Spraque-Dawley(SD) rats were randomly divided into normal group, control group (injured group) , experimental group (edaravone-treating group). Injured was caused by needling in the somatosensery cortex. When stimulating this limbs, observing this area by optical intrinsic signal imaging.ResultsAfter injuring, the responding area of cortex expanded, and blood vessels dilated. The circulation of injured area in edaravone-treating group was significantly different with control group and there were more functional neuron in edaravone-treating group compared with control group.Conclusion1 .Optical intrinsic signal imaging (OISI) is a useful methods to study the dynamic state of brain.2.When a certain injury occurred in brain tissue, its peripheral tissues will compensate its function.3.Edaravone can maintain a steady circulation in this area.4.Edaravone can protect the neuron of brain.
