Objective: To study the Ibuprofen's effects of CVS after SAH in rats and its impact on the cerebrovascular wall in the expression of ICAM-1 changes, in order to verify whether ibuprofen in rats effectively prevent or mitigate the brain damage caused by CVS after SAH by inhibiting the expression of ICAM-1 in the cerebrovascular. Methods : Randomly divided the SD rats into four groups: sham-operated group, saline group, SAH group and SAH with ibuprofen intervention group, surgery operated to modeling, scored on animal neurological behavior at 3d,7d after modeling. Removed brain pontine basilar artery, observed the sections of blood vessels spasm and cerebrovascular wall morphology changes in biopsy, and used immunohistochemical method to determine the expression changes of vascular wall inflammation indicators ICAM-1, processed the data by Statistics finally. Results: there was significant statistical difference (P<0.05) between ibuprofen treatment group and SAH group at the time of 3d on animals neurobehavior score, and the same significant statistical difference (P<0.05) on basilar artery wall thickness. The SAH group showed the strongest ICAM-1 expression at the time of 7d, ibuprofen treatment group was the second. The sham-operated group and saline group had no significant expression. Conclusion: 1 .The local inflammatory response on cerebrovascular wall may be the main reason caused by CVS after SAH, in which ICAM-1 plays an important role in the local inflammatory response of the cerebrovascular wall.2. Ibuprofen can effectively reduce the severity of CVS after SAH.3.The mechanism of ibuprofen's Prevention and treatment on CVS may be by inhibiting the expression of ICAM-1.
