Expression And Its Significance Of Midkine And UPA In Human Colon Carcinoma

ObjectiveTo investigate the relationship between the expression of midkine and uPA in colon carcinoma and the biological behavior.MethodsThe expression of MK and uPA were examinated using SP immnohistochemistry in 55 cases of colon cancer and 30 cases of peritumorally normal tissues in order to analyse the relation between the expression of MK and uPA in colon cancer and the parameters of clinc pathology of colon cancer.All the dates were analyzed by SPSS10.0 statistical software .The comparison of positive rates uses the Chi-square ,statistically sinnificant level was considered as"alpha equals 0.05".Results(1)The positive rates of MK in colon cancer tissues (56.36%) was significantly higher than that of peritumorally normal tissues (10.53%) ,P<0.05.(2) The positive rates of uPA in colon cancer tissues (61.82%) was significantly higher than that of peritumorally normal tissues (16.67%) ,P<0.05.(3)The positive rates of MK of colon cancer was significantly correlated with turner size,invasive depth,lymph-node metastasis and TNM stage,P<0.05.There were no correlations between gender,age,cellular differentiation and the positive rates of MK in colon cancer,P>0.05.(4)The positive rates of uPA of colon cancer was significantly correlated with cellular differentiation ,tumer size,invasive depth,lymph-node metastasis and TNM stage,P<0.05. There were no correlations between gender,age and the positive rates of MK in colon cancer,P>0.05.(5)Relatively analysis revealed that there is Positive correlationbetween the expression of MK and uPA. Conclusions(1)The excessive expression of MK was significantly correlated with turner size,invasive depth,lymph-node metastasis and TNM stage,which suggests that MK can promote colon cancer growth,invasion and metastasis.MK can be used as an important marker for the invasion of colon cancer.(2)The excessive expression of uPA was significantly correlated with turner size,invasive depth,lymph-node metastasis and TNM stage,which suggests that uPA can promote colon cancer growth,invasion and metastasis.uPA can be used as an important marker for the invasion of colon cancer.(3)The expression of MK and uPA have a positive correlation, which suggests that MK and uPA may have play a inductive or corporative action in colon cancer.They together participate in growth,invasion and metastasis in colon cancer.The detection of the MK expression combined uPA expression might may have more significant meaning to explore the potentiality of invasion and metastasis of colon cancer and predict the prognosis of colon cancer.(4)MK and uPA can be used as tumor marker for colon cancer detection and molecule targert for therapy.
