The evoked potential(EP) is a very important aspect of the neural pathway detection,the latency and amplitude detection is the key point. The method used in clinic is the superposition averaging nowadays.There are two basic theoretical hypothesis of the superposition averaging technique:(1) the latency,amplitude and frequency of EP don't change in inter-stimulation;(2) the background interference signal(including the EES, 50 Hz supply frequency and other interference) is the white noise,whose defects were proven theoretically and experimentally,so the single trial of EPs has thoroughly become a hard and hot point in EP extraction currently.The study proposes independently use of the resources related to the audio processing in a multi-media computer to construct the human auditory evoked potential stimulator subsystem,including the sound generator,sound card,the player of the sound,and the earphone.The human auditory evoked potential single trial system is consist of the sonic stimulator subsystem based on the multi-media computer audio-resources, the signal sampling subsystem and the signal processing subsystem under the control of the computer.In this work,we adopt an auto-reference,auto-correlation and adaptive interference cancellation theories and techniques(AAA-ICT) proposed by our Lab to realize the single trial of auditory cortical evoked potential (ACEP).This is successfully an application of AAA-ICT in the field.The work gives that the single trial ACEP(including the P1-N1-P2) of 38 health young individuals(12 male,26 female),aged 22.55±2.77 years old,and 40 health old individuals(19 male,21 female),aged 71.8±5.997 years old with the single ear stimulation and double ears stimulation respectively.The results of young individuals are:the Left ear stimulation normal values of the latency and amplitude of P1-N1-P2 are:68.45±5.97ms, 7.93±3.26μv,120.8±6.49ms,-13.95±3.36μv,185.9±8.51ms,11.87±3.97μv respectively;the Right ear stimulation normal values of the latency and amplitude of P1-N1-P2 are:69.7±7.12ms,7.98±2.73μv,121.1±8.35ms, -13.46±3.49μv,185.6±9.04ms,12.45±3.78μv respectively;the two ears stimulation normal values of the latency and amplitude of P1-N1-P2 are: 69.22±6.39ms,7.73±2.74μv,119.6±8.05ms,-14.75±3.39μv,185.9±6.82 ms,14.2±4.55μv respectively.The results of old individuals are:the Left ear stimulation normal values of the latency and amplitude of P1-N1-P2 are:73.67±6.52ms, 4.83±2.02μv,131.6±10.2ms,-9.03±2.27μv,210.6±16.98ms,7.98±2.06μv respectively;the Right ear stimulation normal values of the latency and amplitude of P1-N1-P2 are:69.7±7.12ms,7.98±2.73μv,121.1±8.35ms, -13.46±3.49μv,185.6±9.04ms,12.45±3.78μv respectively;the two ears stimulation normal values of the latency and amplitude of P1-N1-P2 are: 74.28±6.16ms,5.13±1.69μv,128.6±9.47ms,-9.47±2.32μv,209.8±16.31ms, 8.68±2.2μv respectively.As concerns the means,the latency of old group is longer than the young group,the amplitude of old group is lower than young group.By the statistical analysis,there are all the statistical significances.Conclusion and discussion:(1)The auditory evoked potential stimulator based on the multi-media audio-technique utilizes the multi-media resource of computer,and can generate the various kinds of sound waves easily;(2) By means of the auditory stimulator,the single trial ACEP of human is successfully extracted;(3) It is easy to design the portable equipment for single trial auditory evoked potential extraction.
