Objective: The use of computer tomography are playing an more important role in the field of dentistry .with the improving of imaging resolution. It helps the dentist to diagnosis and treat patients more accurate than the past. At the same time , it effectively shortens the learning curve of the dentist in impantation. the aim of this report was to introduce the technique of 3D surgical stent in oral implantation. Methods: 3 D surgical stent was used in 54 sites in 10 patients by flapless surgery. 42 sites in 8 patients underwent one stage surgery by flapless surgery. Healing cap was placed at the same time .After 4~ 6 months fixed prosthesis were being placed. The other 10 sites in 2 patients underwent one stage surgery by flapless surgery. Then the implants were immediate loaded using removable prosthesis. After surgery, all the patients take CT again and compare with the presurgical treatment plan by software and measure the angle difference between the virtual and final placement. Results: The angle discrepancy between presugical treatment plan using 3D surgical stent compare with postsurgery CT is between 1~3 degrees . Periapical film were taken during each follow-up, and no radiolucent was found around implants. There were no implants mobility or lost during a follow- up period of 4– 12 months. Conclusions: The use of 3D surgical stent technique make the implant surgery more simple and increases the patient's satisfaction . The technique is predictable for implant placement and is both beneficial to dental surgeon and patient.
