Background and objective:Pancreatic cancer is a malignant tumor which seriously imperil the health of human, of which the death rate hold the forth Place in malignant tumors. Patients always have local or distant metastasis before they seek medical attention. Pancreatic cancer was considered a genetic disease would happen if there were activation of proto-oncogene and defects of anti-oncogenes in genes that would control cell differentia -tion.Pokemon (for POK erythroid myeloid ontogenic factor; also known as LRF, OCZF and FBI-1) is a POK protein family member that has a critical and pleiotropic function in cellular differentiation. Recently invitro study and animal experiments have show that Pokemon could inhibit suppress gene ARF in specificity,and it could enhanced the stabability of NF-κB.it also inhinbit the function of the Rb genes. Pokemon Plays an important role in occurrence and development of tumor . The research about Pokemon in pancreatic cancer was few. The pancreatic cancer samples we collected were different in their Pathological level. In our study, the expression of Pokemon was investigated by immunohistochemistry. We also analyze the relationship of the expression of Pokemon and pancreatic cancer pathological characters. Method:The expression Pokemon was detected in 35 cases of pancreatic cancer tissues and 10 case of pancreatic normal injured tissue by immunohistochemical technique , and linked to age,gender,depth of invasion, lymphnode metastasis, Pathologicalgrade.Result:The result of immunohistochemical dying showed that the expression of Pokemon was found both in pancreatic cancer and normal pancreatic tissue samples. the expression of Pokemon in pancreatic cancer samples was higher than the normal pancreatic tiusse samples. The difference was statistical significant. The expression did not related with gender ,age, lymph node metastasis, but correlated with histologic grading or differentiation.Conclusion:The expression of Pokemon in pancreatic cancer samples was higher than in normal pancreatic tissues samples.This suggested that Pokemon expression is involved in pancreatic cancer .The expression amount was related with cancer differentiation.This suggested that Pokemon expression maybe related with malignancy degree.
