The Expression And Significance Of Bcl-2 And Ki67 Protein In Oral And Maxillofacial Basal Cell Carcinoma

Objective: To investigate the expression of Bcl-2 and Ki67,and their significan- ce of biology and relationship in non-invasive basal cell carcinoma(NIBCC)and invasive basal cell carcinoma(IBCC) and to explore relationship of it with cell proliferation and apoptosis of cell and their mutual relation.Methods: Forty BCCs were divided into two groups(twenty in NIBCCs,twenty in IBCCs).We used streptavidin-biotin peroxidase(SP) method of immunohistoche- mical staining for observing the expression of Bcl-2 and Ki67 in NIBCCs,IBCCs and twenty normal skin tissue.Tissue sections were observed under optical microscope. All the data were conducted by spss13.0, chisquare test was used,P<0.01 was refered to statistically significant difference. The relation of Bcl-2 and Ki67 in BCC groups were conducted by spearman correlateon analysis.Result:1,The expression of Bcl-2 in the NIBCCs and IBCCs was higher obviously than normal skin tissue,χ12=25.9,χ22=14.9,P<0.01; The expression of Ki67 in the NIBCCs and IBCCs was higher obviously than normal skin tissue too,χ32=11.6,χ42=32.7,P<0.01.2,The NIBCCs demonstrated high Bcl-2 labeling ,but IBCCs were low Bcl-2 labeling ,their rates were 80% and 75%,respectively.The difference between them was significant(χ2=26.7,P<0.01).3,The NIBCCs demonstrated low Ki67 labeling ,but IBCCs demonstrated high Ki67 labeling ,two group rates were 65% and 80%, respectively. The difference between them was significant(χ2=12.9,P<0.01)too.4,The negative correlation of Bcl-2 and Ki67 was significant in BCCs ( r = -0.625,P <0. 05).Conclusion:1,Bcl-2 and Ki67 might participate in the carcinogenesis and development of BCC.2,Bcl-2 and Ki67 protein might not be taken as an indicator of malignancy in BCC,while Ki67 was a good indicator in assessing the invasiveness of BCC.3,In NIBCC, inhibitation of cell apoptosis might take primary importance,while importance taken by cell proliferation might be secondary; In IBCC, cell proliferation might take primary importance,while importance taken by inhibitation of cell apoptosis might be secondary .
