Objective: To investigate the efficacy of interventional therapy of arterial obliterans of lower extremity(AOLE).Methods:87 patients with AOLE in 103 involved lower limbs, who were hospitalized between 2006-3 to 2009-2, were treated with percutaneous transluminal angioplasty(PTA) or PTA and implantation of stent in accordance with their TASC type and disease conditions. The effects and complications were evaluated. Results: In the 87 patients (103 involved lower limbs), there are 20 iliac artery lesion (9 were underwent with PTA and 11 were underwent with PTA and implantation of stent), 65 femoral artery lesion (35 were underwent with PTA and 30 were underwent with PTA and implantation of stent), 47 infrapopliteal artery lesion were all underwent with PTA, 2 were failed because of the severe artery conditions. In others cases the blood flow was approximately unobstructed, the remnant stenosis was no more than 30%. No severe complication was found, the success ratio of the operation was 98%.Conclusion: interventional therapy is an effective and safe procedure for the treatment of AOLE.
